Imagination is what lets Players, Reapers, and Angels use pins in the UG. The more Imagination one has, the more pins they are able to use. This is why Neku is able to use every single pin in The World Ends With You. After sucessfully winning the Game, Imagination is what detemines a Player's fate. Those with less-than-stellar Imagination are Erased and broken down into Soul, while the one's with somewhat good Imagination are offered a chance to be Reapers. Those with excellent Imagination have an oppurtunity to become Angels. However, a being may choose to be reincarnated by the Composer. The Angels do not consider this a loss since upon returning to the RG, a being will most likely gain a profession such as an artist that will influence others, raising their Imagination, which creates more beings with excellent potential.
